When you feel like quitting, ask yourself why you started
I feel like I have always struggled with my weight, or body shape. Even when I was younger I wasn’t big but thought I was – its like that quote
I wish I was as thin as I was when I thought I was fat
This was me about 6 years ago when I thought I was fat, and hadn’t had my 2 children. I would love to get back to this weight/body shape but I know once you have had children your shape changes and will never be the same.
Before I had Heidi I weighed around 9 – 9 1/5 stone and had been a size 10 but my problem area for me had always been my thighs/legs and stomach. Once I had Heidi my weight went up to 11 stone plus and I just couldnt shift it. I dont think I had the motivation at the time and just loved to eat all the carbs and chocolate I could.
Just before I fell pregnant with Alfie I was going to bootcamp 3 times a week, and doing PT lessons. My weight was staying the same becuase I couldnt get in to the right eating habbits but my body shape was changing and I was starting to feel better about my self.
I carried on working out until I was around 12 weeks pregnant and I really think this helped becasue after I had Alfie the only weight I had put on was 4lbs. But I had decided enough was enough and I wanted to feel better in my own skin and lose the baby weight – from Heidi! and get my confidence back. I had Alfie the end of November and decided to enjoy my christmas and then start slimming world and this is were the weight loss journey begins……
Slimming World is a Lifestyle choice not a diet
I was always jubious about Slimming World because how can you eat potatoes and pasta and still lose weight but believe me you can. I joined my local group on the 8th January 2018 with a start weight of 11 st 4lbs and was probably a size 14 but I had convinced myself for the last few years I was a size 12. It was only after I started to lose a bit of weight and my clothes actually started to fit me confortably and not digging in.
The weight started to drop off and with 4 weigh ins I had my 1/2 stone award and was such a huge motivation. By March I had my stone award and then up until now I have maintained, lost and gained but Im 1/2 lb off my stone and a half award which I am determined to get next week. So to this date I have lost a total of 20.5 lbs and im inbetween a size 10 – 12 which I havent been since before I was pregnant. And yeah Im starting to feel good about myself and Keith really helps because he gives me such lovely compliments which really helps.
This week I have started back at the Gym and went to my first class, which I loved – even though it was at 6:15am. I am planning on trying to do about 3 classes a week, which one of them is Yoga which I did last week and it was sooo relaxing.
Start Weight 11 st 4 lbs Size 14
Current Weight 9 st 11 1/2 lbs Size 12
Total Weigh Loss 20 1/2 lbs
Ideally I want to be able to fit in to a size 8 -10 which fingers crossed is achiveable and my biggest motivavtion is slipping in to swim wear next year for my soon to be sister-in-laws Hen do which is going to be abroad.
I have been looking at swimming costumes and bikins because the hen do is in March and there wont be much summer clothes around at that time. I really like to be orgainised and its also my motivation. Thses are a few of the bits I have picked up so far and love them.
