My Dream Kitchen

My Dream Kitchen

“Kitchens are made for bringing families together”

Like a lot of people I love spending my time scrolling through Pinterest looking for any sort of inspiration, and my favourite right now is looking for my dream kitchen. Also watching diy programmes I get so jealous of the open plan kitchen/diners with huge bifold doors, they are my dream. I can just imagine having them open while cooking and watching the kids playing in the garden.

We moved into our house nearly five years ago now – really don’t know we’re the time has gone! We just haven’t had the money to change certain things with one thing or another coming up it always seems to go on the back burner.

We have a list of things which we would like to finally get done in the house and the Kitchen is definitely high up on our list. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and would love for it to be more of a family space because the kitchen is were the heart is.

Our kitchen at the moment is an okish space but I would love to modify this and open it up with the back room to have a large kitchen come diner with a table and comfy places to sit, a place we come together of an evening as a family.

This is the current set up of our kitchen and backroom,

The Picture above is our back room and the door leads on to the kitchen. This is were I would love to have bifold doors.

This is our kitchen at the moment and I just hate everything about it from the units, to the floor, to the wallpaper to the aertex ceiling. It just needs ripping out and starting from scratch.

This is the wall I would love to knock down and just have it open plan and use the space as we don’t use it at the moment, its were the junk and washing seems to get left, so it ends up looking scruffy.

My dream kitchen would be this Black high gloss one which is called the Cooke & Lewis Raffello High Gloss Anthracite Slab. I love how sleek and modern it looks and after having a white kitchen I would never have one again – trying to keep those cupboards clean is a nightmare!

Then I would have a white marble worktop and I love the way it looks on this picture below. To be honest this picture is my dream kitchen apart from a few things I would change.

I’m also a little bit in love with the Belfast Sink and would have to have one. They just remind me of the olden days and I have wanted one for years.

I seen these copper taps and fell in love with them as soon as I seen them – well it was when I was scrolling through Pinterest. I searched the internet and found this one from Tap warehouse.

Then it’s on to the floor, I know I want Tiles as we have laminate down at the minute and it’s not level and buckled in places. Once you have tiles down it’s done forever then. These ones from Tile Mountain would go perfect with the worktop and are also classic and wouldn’t date which is what I’m looking for.

Finally the main feature the dinning table and chairs, I want something comfy but strong that will last, especially with two young children. This one from Oak furniture would look perfect and gives us enough room for a family of four. I know the material chairs aren’t ideal with children but I need a bit of luxury somewhere.
