I have never been on a spa break before but have had a few massages in the past. I have always hated going for a massage and then having to travel back home and once home not having the time to relax and enjoy the full benefits of a massage. As a mum once you get home there’s always something to do whether it’s making tea, washing dishes or cleaning. Having a full relaxing day with someone to cook my meals and not lift a finger was just what I needed. I decided to go ahead and book an overnight spa break for me and my mum at Crewe Hall Spa.
We had a little look on the webpage Crewe Hall under offers and found the offer that suited us. We got the One Night Spa Break for £109 each which included the following:
· An Overnight Stay
· Full English Breakfast
· Three Course Evening Meal
· 1 x 60 minute spa ritual or 2 x 30 minute spa treatments
· A light lunch
· Use of the spa facilities
Which I thought was quite a lot for the price we were paying.
The drive from Liverpool was so easy and was literally just one straight road there, but I did use my Sat Nav because I struggle with directions to anywhere. You can’t check in until 3:00 pm but can still use the facilities. We left around 9:30ish and stopped at the services halfway for something quick to eat because we were both hungry, it was our own faults for missing breakfast! Then we got back on the road and arrived about 11:15. The entrance to Crewe hall is amazing and I didn’t think it would be as big as it actually was.
We then made our way to the spa facilities were they give you a robe and slippers to use for your stay. We took full advantage of the pool, steam room and sauna until it was time for lunch. We had pre booked this for 12:30 and it was more than a light lunch. It was in a buffet style and there was so much to choose from and even the fussiest eater would find something they liked.
Then it was time for our treatments we both picked 2 x 30 minute treatments which were the

Shoulder, Neck and Scalp massage with ESPA this massage focuses on the key areas of tension using an ESPA Body Oil chosen for your specific needs.
I can honestly say it was one of the most relaxing and thorough massages I have ever had. The attention to detail and time spent was really good and I would highly recommend.
Then we checked in and went to check out our room, and it didn’t disappoint. The beds were really comfortable and so much room for 2 people. The bathroom was lovely and in there was a bath and a separate shower, also your mini shampoo, body wash and body cream, always a bonus.
Once we were ready we decided to look around the old part of Crewe Hall and see if the story’s were true about ghosts. It was very oldie worldie and I definitely felt a presence, once one of the hotel workers confirmed it I was so creeped out I couldn’t get out of the old part quick enough. Apparently there was a fire in the old part of the hall many years ago and I women died in one on the banquet rooms, and she haunts there. As we were doing the spa break we stayed in the newer part of the hall and I’m quite glad as I wouldn’t of slept a wink in the old part. There is so much of the original building and rooms that it really is interesting, the below pictures are of the church part and lobby which are stunning.
We then went for our evening meal and again the food was amazing. There is a set menu or you can chose from the normal menu, I had 3 courses and couldn’t fault the food apart from there was too much and I was stuffed. The service was fantastic and they couldn’t do enough for you.
Breakfast was buffet style again with everything you would want. Full English, cereals, breads, meats, tea/coffee, juices, eggs made to order the list could go on.
The experience was more than I expected and would recommend to anyone and have done, We will definitely be making a second trip there sometime in the summer and it will probably become a yearly occurrence for us.
